Throughout the project, the Spoken Dutch Corpus secretariat offered general organizational and administrative support. The secretariat resided in the Hague, the Netherlands, under the Netherlands Organization for Scientific Research. During the first years, Ms A. Dijkstra was the contact for the Spoken Dutch Corpus project. In 2001 Dr. M. van Donzel succeeded her. Ms Dijkstra and later Dr. van Donzel acted as secretary to the board and the steering committee. The secretariat handled overall financial and judicial matters, and dealt with all contracts. In so far as work was carried out in the Netherlands, the secretariat was also responsible for giving out contracts to subcontractors and managed the project's finances. For Flanders the Ministerie van de Vlaamse Gemeenschap, Departement Wetenschap, Administratie Wetenschap en Innovatie (AWI) was responsible for the project's financial management and the contracting of parties.
