Hieronymus Catalogue of Translations in the Burgundian and Spanish Netherlands (1470-1700) (online)

De Hieronymus-database verzamelt informatie over personen die betrokken waren bij vertalingen en boeken die verband houden met vertalingen in de Bourgondische en Spaanse Nederlanden in de vroegmoderne periode. De database bevat persoonlijke gegevens over vertalers, maar ook over auteurs en andere personen die een rol speelden bij de productie van gedrukte vertalingen, zoals uitgevers, drukkers, illustratoren, enz. De informatie over de boeken in de database omvat de korte en lange titel, de datum en plaats van publicatie, het editienummer voor zover dat kon worden achterhaald, het formaat, illustraties, kerkelijke goedkeuring en privileges, de taal van de tekst, het genre, bibliotheken die exemplaren bezitten en andere relevante gegevens. In totaal zijn er drieënvijftig talencombinaties in de database gedocumenteerd, in verschillende frequenties.

The Hieronymus database gathers information on people involved with and books related to translation in the Burgundian and Spanish Netherlands in the early modern period. It contains personal data on translators, but also on authors and other actors relevant to the production of printed translations like publishers, printers, illustrators, … Information on the books in the database comprehends short and long title, date and place of publication, edition number in as far as it could be ascertained, format, illustrations, ecclesiastical approbation and privilege, the language of the text, its genre, libraries holding copies, and other relevant data. A total of fifty-three language combinations is documented in the database, in different frequencies.
